Vale de Moses to me is an extraordinary yoga retreat with great vegetarian (or also vegan) freshly cooked food, a wonderful teacher (Fleur), warm and welcoming people in the middle of nowhere. You leave this place as a changed person and I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a retreat in the nature of Portugal.
It’s impossible to not become unstressed and relaxed after a week here, just by being in those surroundings and eating that food :) The place is a little magical, and it seems to bring out the best in everyone after a few days.
If you are lucky enough to have visited then you are truly lucky enough.
The best yoga retreat ever! Extraordinarily restful week amongst a sea of beautiful wildflowers and pine forest accompanied by the gentle sound of the valley streams. Our group was a mix of ages, abilities and flexibility but we were each given the support we needed. Lovely selection of accommodation – all pristine and comfortable. And the vegan food was extraordinarily tasty and plentiful – worthy of a top restaurant.
My daughter and self had a really enjoyable week at Vale de Moses – the stunning setting, the charm of the retreat, so lovingly and painstakingly restored, the delicious and healthy food, the yoga, the walks, cooling down down in the natural pools and then reading or sleeping whilst swinging in a hammock – it can’t get any better – oh how could I forget the company, those on the retreat and those looking after us, we met some lovely people.
A stunning experience. You arrive as strangers and leave with friends. The team and guests are all wonderful beautiful people in a wonderful beautiful place. Thank you Andrew and Von and your terrific team for an amazing adventure. Love you guys.
Vale de Moses is a beautiful place, the yoga classes are the best I have ever experienced and the food is delicious every day. But what makes this place extra special is the wonderfully warm and open people who work so hard to make the retreat welcoming for people like me in need of some distance from everyday troubles.
I’ve traveled the world and this was the first time I’ve ever felt at home.
Blessed to have been guided to your place... it was exactly what I needed. Connecting to nature, practicing Yoga surrounded by wonderful people, experiencing what good, healthy food can do for your body and soul, having a wonderful massage and experiencing the magic of a re-connective healing treatment.
This was my first ‘proper’ retreat so was unsure as to what to expect but I had the most amazing time. I arrived feeling tired out and left feeling like a different woman - rested, nourished and strong in body and mind! The setting is simply beautiful, the yoga was fantastic and I enjoyed two fantastic healing treatments. The food was out of this world - who knew vegan could taste so good! I can’t recommend this place highly enough, I shall be back for sure.
