Hire Vale de Moses

Set deep in the heart of central Portugal, surrounded by wilderness, Vale de Moses is a healing theatre of a valley - Ideal for immersive and transformative retreat experiences

After 12 years of running our own retreats, we now hire most of the weeks in a year to teachers and facilitators bringing their own groups to practice. To cultivate more intimate relationships with the beyond-human world around us. To find home and healing together in the forest. Summer retreats are all 5-nights Monday morning to Saturday morning, as we are committed to provide rest throughout the year to our team. We are currently building a cob domed sweat lodge down by the cascading river pools and a large bamboo roof covered fire pit space for group ceremonial work - photos and videos to come once they are finished.

Below you can see 2024 prices and available dates to hire via the calendar. We can accommodate groups of up to 25 people in the summer months and up to 15 in the winter when our belle tents are in dry storage.

What's included?

  • Accommodation for up to 25 people in shared stone cottages or private Strawberry belle tents and farmhouse bedrooms

  • 3 nourishing vegan / vegetarian meals a day, freshly prepared using local and seasonal ingredients

  • Use of all our facilities including:

    Shala - a 9m x 6m wooden and glass space with laminated floor, elevated to offer stunning views across the valley and fully equipped with air conditioning, yoga mats, bolsters, straps and blankets

    River valley and terraces with a variety of spaces suitable for outdoor practices and ceremonies

    Natural plunge pool with sun deck and two natural river pools

  • Transport to and from our local town of Oleiros, with check-ins from 10am Monday and check-outs by 10am Saturday

    Additional services available that you might like to include in your own package price:

  • Healing treatments with our team of therapists 90€/90 minutes

  • Sweat lodge & Fire Pit Ceremonial space (additional prices to cover staff supervision and firewood)

  • Minibus Excursion to Rio Zêzere for wild swimming (price depends on group size)

2024 Pricing

Our starting price is the total for groups of up to 10 people. 700€ per person for the first 10 people in your group including you. For groups larger than 10 people, the price per person then drops to 500€ for each additional participant. A group of 20 would be 600€ pp.

5 night retreats Monday - Saturday - 7,000€

You can reserve your week at Vale de Moses with a 20% deferable deposit of 1400€. If you cancel for any reason, this deposit can be transferred to a future retreat with us. The balance of 5600€ is payable anytime up to two weeks before you arrive. Any additional participants more than group of 10 would be @500€ pp, plus any treatments, sweat lodge or fire pit ceremonies taken during your stay and any taxis required for trips to the Rio Zêzere or transport outside our published check in/check out times, can all be paid at checkout. If your group is just 10 with no additional extras, there would be nothing to pay at check out. Average group size has been 15-18.

Accommodation

Our sleeping capacity is 18-25 people, depending on single or double occupancy of the double beds. You have a choice of 3 private double or twin bedrooms in the farmhouse, 7 single beds in two stone cottages and 8 double, twin and single bed glamping belle tents in the shade of strawberry fruit trees. All of our accommodation options offer the same high quality furnishings, wood burners for the colder nights even in the belle tents, and close proximity to toilets and showers throughout the 5 hectare site.

Moses Cottage - shared, open plan stone cottage with 5 single beds 0ver 3 levels, kitchen facilities, WIFI and a bathroom - sleeps 5

Adega Cottage - shared, open plan stone cottage with 2 single beds across 2 levels, 1 private room and a bathroom - sleeps 3

Strawberry Belle Tents - 2 doubles, 4 twin and 2 single belles with access to 2 shared bathrooms - sleeps 14

Availability

Getting to Vale de Moses

We are located approximately 2.5 hours from both Lisbon and Porto and accessible by car, with a number of hire options available in both cities. For those looking to travel by public transport, we recommend travelling via Lisbon for regular Rede Expressos bus services from Lisboa Sete Rios to our local town of Oleiros, where we’ll pick you up for the short drive to the retreat. We can also arrange taxi and minibus services on request.

Monday coach service Lisbon Sete Rios to Oleiros departs Monday 7:00am/6:00pm arriving 10.30am/9.30pm

We recommend arriving in Portugal over the weekend before the retreat starts, and either stay by the coast or travel straight to the mountains. There are several guest houses and Airbnbs in Oleiros to choose from.
